GPS Business News officially unveiled today the Geo-Content and Services Marketplace,
a unique business to business event that offers a one stop shopping experience for content and services dedicated to the navigation and location-based services industry. The event will take place at the Radisson Blu Paris CDG Airport (France), from 9:30am to 5:30pm on December 7, 2010.
“With the surge of free navigation offers from Nokia, Google and others and the price war raging on App stores, navigation vendors have suddenly realized that the value of the basic A to B navigation has dissolved, leaving place to a “freemium” model where the monetization opportunity lies in advanced functionalities, added services and location-aware content,” explained Ludovic Privat, co-founder and editor at GPS Business News. “Real-time traffic, speedcam information and the long tail of travel and tourism contents are now in high demand.”
